Privacy Notice

Caravelli Italian Restaurant & Rooms ("Caravelli", "we", "us") is the data controller for personal information collected through this website and through our restaurant and rooms. We are based at The Old Manor, 11 Sparrow Hill, Loughborough LE11 1BT. This notice explains what we collect, why we collect it and what you can do about it.

Information we collect

  • Enquiry and reservation details you submit through our contact form: your name, email address, telephone number, preferred date, number of guests and any message or special requests.
  • Correspondence if you email, call or message us.
  • Technical and usage information collected automatically, such as pages visited, approximate location, browser and device type, gathered through cookies and similar technologies where you have consented.

We do not knowingly collect information from children and we do not collect special category data unless you choose to tell us about an allergy or dietary requirement so that we can serve you safely.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and manage table or room reservations.
  • To send you a confirmation of your enquiry and any follow up we agree with you.
  • To keep records of bookings and to run our restaurant and rooms day to day.
  • To understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
  • To meet our legal, accounting and food safety obligations.

Our lawful bases are performance of a contract (or steps at your request before entering one), our legitimate interests in running and improving the business, your consent where we ask for it (for example non essential cookies), and compliance with legal obligations.

Sharing your information

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us operate, such as our website hosting and email delivery providers, and with professional advisers or authorities where the law requires it. These providers act on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality obligations. Where information is processed outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place.

How long we keep it

Enquiry and reservation records are kept for up to 24 months so we can handle follow up questions and repeat bookings. Records required for accounting or legal reasons are kept for as long as the law requires. After that, information is securely deleted.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, access controls and limiting access to team members who need it. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take the safety of your information seriously.

Cookie Notice

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use them sparingly, to keep the site working properly and to understand how visitors use it.

Essential cookies

These are required for the website to function, for example to remember your cookie choice and to keep form submissions secure. They cannot be switched off through our banner because the site will not work correctly without them.

Analytics cookies

With your consent we use Google Analytics to collect anonymous statistics such as which pages are most popular and how visitors reach us. This helps us improve the website. These cookies are only set after you choose "Accept" on our cookie banner.

Managing cookies

You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser and reloading the page, or by using your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Blocking all cookies may affect how parts of the website behave.

Third party content

Some pages may embed content from third parties such as Google Maps or social platforms. Those providers may set their own cookies and are governed by their own privacy notices.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete information where there is no good reason for us to keep it.
  • Object to or ask us to restrict how we use your information.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent.
  • Ask us to transfer your information to another provider.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we have handled your information.
